Make your product provable across borders

ACE provides the digital identity and traceability layer that travels with an African product from producer to buyer. Origin of goods, chain of custody, batch records and processing trail — documented once, verified everywhere.

A certificate on paper can be photocopied. A record on ACE cannot.

Buyers across the world increasingly ask for proof — proof of origin, proof of process, proof that the person selling is the person who made it. Paper-based records slow down customs, open the door to fraud, and leave African producers at a disadvantage in exactly the markets where they should be winning.

ACE provides the digital traceability layer that produces, holds and verifies those records. It gives each product or batch a digital identity, connects that identity to the producer, to the raw material, to the processing steps, and to any certificate issued along the way. A single scan or a single link lets a buyer, an authority or a customs officer see the full trail.

Six capabilities that make a product traceable

Every category below is available through a formal request. Some are live today. Some are in the pilot. Some are on the roadmap and clearly marked.

Capability 01

Digital product identity

Every product or batch receives a unique digital identity that can be linked to a QR code, a barcode or a short URL. The identity follows the product through every hand.

  • Unique identity per product or per batch
  • QR, barcode or short-URL presentation
  • Public verification endpoint
  • Print-ready labels and packaging artwork
● Live in pilot
Capability 02

Origin of goods records

Structured records that document where a product comes from — the country, the region, the community, the producer and the raw materials — in a form customs and buyers can verify.

  • Country and region of origin
  • Producer and community identification
  • Raw material source records
  • Verifiable trail for preferential treatment
◐ In development
Capability 03

Chain of custody

Each hand a product passes through is recorded — the farmer, the processor, the packager, the exporter, the importer — with timestamps and locations. The full chain is visible in one place.

  • Multi-party custody hand-offs
  • Timestamps and locations
  • Documented responsibility per step
  • Dispute resolution support
◐ In development
Capability 04

Processing and value-addition trail

What happened to the product between raw material and finished item — washing, drying, milling, extraction, blending, packaging. Documented once, verifiable by any buyer.

  • Processing step records
  • Inputs and outputs per step
  • Equipment and facility identification
  • Compliance documentation linking
◐ On request
Capability 05

Certification linking

Any certificate issued by a competent authority or an approved certifier can be linked to the product's digital identity. When a buyer scans, they see the certificate and its verification status.

  • Certificate references stored on ACE
  • Public certificate verification
  • Revocation and expiry handling
  • Connects to the ACE Certification workflow
● Live in pilot
Capability 06

Digitalisation of existing records

For producers and institutions with paper-based systems, we design and deliver the digital workflow that replaces them — without changing the underlying rules they operate under.

  • Process mapping and requirements
  • Digital workflow design
  • Integration with existing systems
  • Training, handover and support

Why traceability is the difference between a market and a missed market

🌍

For producers

A verifiable record of origin and process means access to premium markets, higher prices, and direct relationships with buyers who value what you make. No more being told your product "cannot be proven."

🛒

For buyers

Every claim on a product can be checked in seconds. Country of origin, processing steps, the certificate, the producer. Trust becomes a scan, not a negotiation.

🏛️

For authorities

Customs and standards officials see the same record the buyer sees. Disputes reduce, clearance speeds up, and the data your country collects about its own trade becomes reliable.

From product to proof, in five steps

We design the trail with you, then hand it over. The records live on ACE so buyers and authorities can verify them.

1

Scope

What are we tracing, who is involved, and what does the buyer or authority need to see?

2

Design

We design the trail: which steps are recorded, by whom, and in what form.

3

Build

The workflow is configured on ACE. Labels, QR codes and integrations are prepared.

4

Pilot

A first batch or first product run is traced end to end. Feedback refines the workflow.

5

Scale

Full rollout across the product range, producers or institution. Training and support included.

ACE records the trail. It does not replace the authority.

Traceability on ACE is a digital record of what actually happened to a product — who touched it, where, when, and under what certificate. It is not itself a certificate, a licence or a legal clearance.

Where a certificate is required, ACE links to the certificate issued by the competent authority or approved certifier. Their decision is the decision. ACE carries it forward.
