An open archive for documented African heritage — objects, manuscripts, oral histories, images, audio recordings and traditional knowledge — organised to library and archival standards, with provenance, rights and verification preserved for every record.
The Digital Heritage Library is the public-facing layer of the Heritage Studio. Objects and collections published here are drawn from heritage records that have been submitted by custodians, documented and verified through the ACE workflow, and consented to for public presentation.
At present, no objects have been published in the Digital Library. As custodians register their heritage through the Heritage Studio, verified records will appear here as catalogue entries — each with its Heritage ID, custodian attribution, provenance, rights status and access conditions.
Six thematic collections will form the archive. Each will hold verified, custodian-consented records, presented as catalogue entries with full metadata.
