Traditional Healer & Practitioner Registry

Recognition, verification and responsible digital registration of traditional medicine practitioners — separate from traditional knowledge ownership and from herbal product authorisation.

A comparative regulatory pilot for the recognition of traditional medicine practitioners across Ethiopia and Zimbabwe, within existing national frameworks and with community/custodian recognition at its core.

Registration of a healer does not confer knowledge ownership. It does not authorise commercial sale of products.

The Traditional Healers area has three parts

ACE keeps the registry, the marketplace and the heritage record separate. Each answers a different question. This page is the registry.

Three separate registries

The ACE Platform treats three different things as three different registries. Keeping them separate protects both the community and the individual practitioner.

This page

1. Practitioner Registry

Who is the practitioner, where do they practise, and what is their recognised area of practice? This page.

Heritage Studio

2. Knowledge & Heritage Registry

What knowledge, practice, formulation, ritual or plant knowledge belongs to a community or custodian?

Herbal Studio

3. Product Registry

What products or preparations are being produced, tested, registered or traded?

Verification levels

Verification is a staged process. Registration does not automatically make a practitioner verified, and verification is not a licence to practise or to sell.

Looking for a practitioner or a traditional health service?

The Registry shows who is registered. The Marketplace shows what is available — consultations, services, and registered traditional products.
